Squabbling Team Mates!

This was my first visit to the excellent facility down at Absolutely Karting in Bristol, and I absolutely loved the track!

My Squadra Furio team mate Jonny Elliott was the championship leader and the obvious benchmark. After practice and single lap qualifying, I was happy to find myself on pole position for the race, and managed to hold off a charging Jonny for around three laps.

Jonny passed me and led for the next ten minutes or so, as I maintained a close watch from just behind. I decided to make my mandatory pitstop but didn’t gain enough of an advantage during this phase to overhaul Jonny. He pitted and exited just in front of me.

This meant that if I wanted to win, I would have to make an on-track pass. Fortunately for me, Jonny made a small mistake on the penultimate lap and I was able to squeeze through and hold him off until the finish.

I really enjoyed taking part in this competitive indoor championship and I will be back for more at the next round in June.
